Roadrunner UK caught up with WITHIN TEMPTATION not so long ago for a catch up and to chat about the band about their The Unforgiven concept project. The first clip in the series can be seen below and includes an overview of the early days of the band and what the highlights were. Stay tuned for the rest of the clips, which will be rolled out every fortnight!

As we mentioned recently, TRIVIUM did 3 gigs in 3 different countries on 2 different continents. One of these gigs was Wacken Festival in Germany and in the below exclusive video from the band, you can see the guys getting ready to go on stage at the festival. The footage gives you a sneak peak at what the band get up to on a gig day and just before going on stage. The clip also includes some performance from the festival – check it out below and check in tomorrow to see the 2nd gig in the series, which was supporting Iron Maiden in London.

The third of MACHINE HEAD’s studio updates was posted on the band’s YouTube page last night. Go behind-the-scenes with Machine Head as they record their new album “Unto The Locust” in the third part of the web series, featuring never-before-heard snippets of new songs! Unto The Locust is being released in various formats in the UK. The fanpack will be released on the 26th of September (pre-order details HERE) and the special edition will be release almost a month later on the 24th of October (pre-order detals HERE).

Dutch symphonic rock outfit, DELAIN have finished up the writing process for their third studio album, expected Spring 2012 and are currently recording the untitled opus at various studios in Stockholm, Sweden.

Behind the production desk is Jacob Hellner, renowned for producing Rammstein and Apocalyptica, alongside the Epicentre team of Frederick Thomander and Anders Wickstrom (Scorpions, Backyard Babies).

Phil Ashcroft of Rocktopia recently interviewed keyboardist Jordan Rudess of progressive metal giants DREAM THEATER. Jordan had the following to say about how the band’s approach to songwriting has changed since Portnoy’s departure form the band last year:

“Well, our new drummer, Mike Mangini, was not there at that point, so he wasn’t involved, but the main writers are John Petrucci [guitar] and myself, and John Myung [bass] was very involved in the process; he contributed freely and he came up with some great riffs. And James [LaBrie, vocals] was very particular about the vocal melodies and said what he did and didn’t like, and what he wanted to keep.

MASTODON’s drummer, Brann, was interviewed by Full Metal Jackie‘s radio show the other day to discuss the tupcoming album, The Hunter. Jackie also plays Black Tongue from the album and you can hear that show by heading over to THIS LOCATION.

36 CRAZYFISTS’ frontman, Brock Lindow, is set to co-host a radio show on Anchorage’s alternative rock station, ’94.7 The End’.

What started out as Brock going to hang out at the station with his buddy, Fatguy, on ‘Fatguy’s Freakshow’ has now turned into a whole new radio slot called ‘Brock & The Fatguy’. Starting on Thursday 8th September, the show runs Monday through Friday from 2pm – 6pm, Alaska time (11pm UK time onwards).

Says Brock, “I’m very excited about my new radio show, ‘Brock and the Fatguy’ on Alaska’s Rock Alternative 94.7 The End. We will be covering all the bases from music to sports to conspiracy theories and interviewing today’s coolest of the cool, but it’s not your average radio show and not your average dudes! Sept 8th – we’re comin’ for ya’ll!!!!!!!!!!!”

The boys have a batch of regular items set up for the show, including ‘Group Therapy’, ‘The Brock Files’, ‘Rock Locker’, ‘WTF Theater’, ‘The Five O’Clock Drive By’ and more. Expect the unexpected.
