Named Best British Newcomer at the Kerrang! Awards and Best New Band at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards, south coast sextet CREEPER are leading a cult of devotees who are enamoured with their black-hearted, high-drama punk.
CREEPER have today launched their brand new single ‘Suzanne’ which blends flamboyant teen scream theatrics with an adrenalized shot of punk ‘n’ roll and the impassioned mantra: “I wanna die holding hands.” ‘Suzanne’ is available as an instant grat track for fans who pre-order their eagerly anticipated debut album ‘Eternity, In Your Arms’ which follows on March 24th. Everyone who pre-orders the album from the Roadrunner UK store will be automatically entered into a draw to attend an exclusive invite-only intimate event in London in January.
“’Suzanne’, although familiar, is a new landscape to explore, and a perfect introduction to the world of our album,” says CREEPER vocalist Will Gould. “We’ve worked to refine our sound, toying with elements of rock ‘n’ roll and blending this together with the 90s punk we grew up on. We hope that this first single will act as a striking message of our intent and ambition.”
Both the album and the single were produced by the band’s regular collaborator Neil Kennedy at The Ranch, and then mixed by Neal Avron (Twenty One Pilots).
“’Eternity, In Your Arms’ is a record, this time not only about being young and heartbroken, but about transition, about age and loss,” explains Gould. “Not only the loss of life, but the loss of ourselves. The pieces of the people we were.”
CREEPER sparked a frenzy among fans and media alike when ‘missing’ posters of each band member were posted online following their sets at the Reading and Leeds Festivals. In the weeks that have followed a series of cryptic clues have been posted on social media – all which are linked to the album’s creative ideas – ahead of the exclusive unveiling of ‘Suzanne’ as Radio 1’s ‘Rockest Record’ on the Rock Show.
Since signing to Roadrunner Records UK in the summer of 2015, CREEPER have gone from strength-to-strength with critical acclaim greeting their EPs ‘The Callous Heart’ and ‘The Stranger’. In addition to Reading and Leeds, they’ve spread their mantra to festivals such as Download, the Vans Warped Tour UK, Slam Dunk, Bestival, Truck, Camden Rocks, 2000 Trees, Y Not and Hevy Fest. Along the way they’ve played shows with Misfits, Twin Atlantic, Andy Black, Funeral For A Friend, Neck Deep, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes and Moose Blood.
Having just completed their debut North American tour, CREEPER conclude 2016 by touring with Pierce The Veil and letlive.
