Music To Drink Beer To

Posted on February 12, 2008

As this is being written, the boys from Chimaira are waiting on initial test mixes for songs from the upcoming The Impossibility Of Reason, and vocalist Mark Hunter is putting together the artwork for this project with Garret Zunt…which, sneak peaks seen of the art look great. Speaking of great, check out the following article online from the Cleveland Scene – a local Cleveland publication from Chimaira’s hometown. A pretty cool piece giving insight into the making of their new album – past, present, and future. Well worth your time to read. Check it out online HERE. All rise for the new birth of metal…

Tracking Complete

Posted on February 12, 2008

The latest from the recording of Spineshank’s new album, as told by drummer Tommy Decker: We are finished tracking the record!!!! Happy new year everybody. the last time I had given you an update, we had just gotten back from Vancouver to take a holiday break and listen to what we had so far. We felt like we needed another week to finish up some “odds and ends” so we booked a week at Cello studios in Hollywood and banged it out. I’m really excited about this record and can’t wait to get it out, mixing starts on the 24th of this month and should be completed in early Feb. We decided to go with Scott Humphrey as our mixer. He really made a big difference on the last record, his mixes seem to bring more life and aggression to the songs, and that can’t be bad… We are busting our ass to get it out A.S.A.P. Unfortunately the release date moved from late May to early June so the label can take care of some legal stuff. It’s only another 2 weeks in what seems like 10 yrs!! It’s taken forever, but like I’ve said before we wanted to make it as good as possible so you get your moneys worth. I hate paying $16 for a CD with 2 or 3 good songs on it and I’m sure you do also. I promise you that will not be the case with Self Destructive Pattern….there will be 4 good songs!! We have also been busy “learning” how to play these new songs and “relearning” the old songs – the last time SpineShank played together as a band was on Sept 10, 2001 in Dublin, Ireland, so its been a LONG time. But we will be back on tour before the summer. We are already in talks about a few possible tours…so keep your eyes open. well that’s it for now, I’ll check in when we have some final mixes done and let you know what the track listing will be. later. Tommy

Hella Video

Posted on February 12, 2008

The upcoming Machine Head live LP titled Hellalive (thanks once again for the name, Alexander Vandevelde) is still on course for a March 10 release date… Of the fourteen songs on the album, all were recorded live at Brixton Academy, London on December 8, 2001…all but “None But My Own” and “The Burning Red,” both of which were recorded live at the With Full Force Festival, Leipzig, Germany on July 7, 2002. Well, to be arriving at the Roadrunner NY office today is a master for a new video, a live video. The song, “The Blood, The Sweat, The Tears.” The video for this was filmed live at the With Full Force Festival, in front of 20,000+ fans. Edited by Kevin McCullah, Machine Head’s Robert Flynn tells it turned out awesome. It’s true. So, in addition to the upcoming live release, be on the lookout for the upcoming live video… more to come…

Red Tape, the latest addition to the Roadrunner roster adds a new addition of their own. “We is expanding the big fat sound by adding another guitar,” tells vocalist and former sole guitarist Jeff Jaworski.
