STONE SOUR filmed the video for the song “Hesitate” on Monday the 20th of September 2010 in Los Angeles with director Paul Brown (JACK WHITE/ALICIA KEYS, AVENGED SEVENFOLD, JOHN MAYER) and directing collective Beta Movement/Skulley FX. COREY TAYLOR commented on the video at the time: “It should come out pretty amazing. I’m super-stoked. This will be THE video of our career.” He went on to explain: “It’s about letting go of something that you want with all your heart that you know is just gonna do nothing but damage to you. And it takes a special kind of heart and a special kind of courage to do that. And not a lot of people have that kind of courage”.

Mike Mangini spoke to MusicRadar recently to discuss all things DREAM THEATER and what it was like recording the new album, which was released on Monday. You can read an extract from that interview below:
“Music doesn’t lie,” says Mike Mangini, Dream Theater’s new man on the drum throne. “All it can do is tell the truth. If you listen to A Dramatic Turn Of Events, you can tell that I have total respect for the band and the music, and that my mission was to enhance these amazing musicians and make what they do sound better.”
What have you learned about yourself since recording the new Dream Theater record and the summer touring you’ve done?
“I have learned that I’ve always had the choice to be who and what I am now, even when I didn’t think so. I’m a better listener, on and off the stage, and I’m more in tune with what somebody else thinks and feels.
“Clearly, I’ve had the choice to be that way since I was seven or whatever. But like anybody, I’ve had ups and downs and got in my own way. It’s like the person you are and the person you want to be are two different things. Being in this band has allowed me to understand the person that was always inside of me, the better person. It’s allowed me to choose the best option, and that’s been really nice.”

Judas Priest is releasing a compilation, The Chosen Few, next month, which will feature other musicians’ favorite Priest songs. The artists who voted will also contribute notes to the CD booklet explaining why they picked the one they did. Among the artists who will be writing notes for the project are SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR frontman COREY TAYLOR, who chose “You’ve Got Another Thing Coming,” and KORN vocalist Jonathan Davis, who picked “Turbo Lover.” In his section of the album notes, Taylor argues that “You’ve Got Another Thing Coming” sets Judas Priest up as “the blueprint for the ultimate heavy metal band.”
