MACHINE HEAD will in fact go ahead with their previously scheduled performance Tuesday (Oct. 26) at Sottosopra Rock Zone in Este (PD), Italy. Also appearing on the bill will be CALIBAN and GOD FORBID.
MACHINE HEAD have been forced to postpone their previously announced shows in Rome and Vicenza (Oct. 25-26), Italy after their tour bus broke down on their way through Swiss Alps this weekend. Stranded in Zurich, with no other buses available (due to heavy European touring at the moment) and no other way to transport the band and their equipment to Rome in time, they are unfortunately forced to wait for repairs to be finished, which looks to be no sooner than this coming Wednesday (Oct. 27). “MACHINE HEAD extends their sincerest apologies, and are making all efforts to reschedule both shows for a later date,” reads a posting on the group’s web site. “Note: GOD FORBID and CALIBAN may still be playing both of the scheduled dates í¢äåäó be sure to check with the local venue for up-to-date information.”

As one of the first bands in modern metal to mix hardcore with industrial beats and synthesizers, LA’s Fear Factory also experimented with full album remixes long before the practice came into vogue. Beyond that, vocalist, Burton C. Bell took inspiration from singers like Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell, Andrew Eldridge from Sisters of Mercy and The Mission UK’s Wayne Hussey to forge a distinctive vocal style blending melodic lyrical delivery with aggressive vocals. This year’s 5th studio album ,’Archetype’, saw the band return to their full-on aggressive cybermetal roots. However… forming in 1990, the band released it’s debut, ‘Soul Of A New Machine’, in 1992. Combining both Metal and Industrial elements, Fear Factory laid a groundwork that spawned the classic ‘Demanufacture’ opus and the Gold-selling album ‘Obsolete’ and paved the way for a whole new wave of bands including Filter, Static X & Stabbing Westward. Now from Nov 1 2004, you will be able to get your hands on a special remastered package of ‘Soul Of A New Machine’ that also includes the 1993 ‘Fear Is The Mind Killer’ EP, which showed Fear Factory’s willingness to experiment with its music and broaden its scope by placing tracks from its debut in the hands of remixers Rhys Fulber and Bill Leeb of Front Line Assembly. Los Angeles, CA – Wednesday 13, of Murderdolls fame, has signed to Roadrunner Records as a solo artist and will be unleashing TRANSYLVANIA 90210 í¢äåäóì SONGS OF DEATH, DYING AND THE DEAD on the label in early 2005. The band, currently comprised of Wednesday on vocals/guitar, Ghastly on drums, Kid Kid on bass and Pig on guitar will begin touring in short order in the UK. They plan to storm the US sometime in early 2005. Wednesday 13’s new album reaches new heights in Horror-Core. “I’m really happy that Roadrunner has decided to get behind me on this record,í¢äå says Wednesday. í¢äåñI think after the Murderdolls album we now have a better idea of how to push this release. This album is just a natural progression for me. Does it sound like Murderdolls or (Wednesday’s pre-Murderdolls band) Frankenstein Drag Queens? Yes, and No. I did some things different from how Murderdolls would,, but its still the same voice. And I hate when people use the word mature, in describing how they have progressed from one album to the other. I’m still just the same guy obsessed with horror movies, cartoons, and death.í¢äå TRACK LISTING – TRANSYLVANIA 90210 í¢äåäóì SONGS OF DEATH, DYING AND THE DEAD 1. Post Mortem Boredom 2. Look What The Bats Dragged In 3. I Walked With A Zombie 4. Haunt Me 5. God Is A Lie 6. I Want You…Dead 7. The Ghost Of Vincent Price 8. Rot For Me 9. Transylvania 90210 10. A Bullet Named Christ Of the tracks on the new album, Wednesday adds í¢äåñThere are a few surprises that the fans won’t expect… The title TRANSYLVANIA 90210 í¢äåäóì SONGS OF DEATH, DYING AND THE DEAD comes from the idea of what I think a Wednesday 13 TV show would be like, it’s like each song is an episode.” Tune in in 2005!
A little something for the weekend for you. Most Precious Blood have done a couple of remixes of their track ‘The Great Red Shift’. So, we’ve added them up into the MUSIC page for you to download… free MP3s of course. Enjoy.
The last 2 nights have marked Obituary’s first UK shows since ‘World Demise’ was released and toured… which means we’re talking around 1995. That was a long fuckin’ time ago. With just 2 UK shows to mark their reunion, we hope you managed to make one. First show, Bradford Rios 2 nights ago. Second, London’s Electric Ballroom, just last night. So, what’s changed? Can they still cut it? Does John Tardy still have vocals from the bowels of Hell? HELL YES! Obituary delivered an amazingly tight set… our highlights being ‘Kill For Me’, ‘Slowly We Rot’, and ‘Final Thoughts’. What did you think? E-mail us! The Electric Ballroom looked sold out and we reckon people had travelled from all over the UK to be there… we learnt of one chap who spent 7 hours on a coach from Cornwall to see them! Still, a 7 hour trip is mere drop in the bucket if you’ve been waiting nearly 10 years… A few choice comments from this office: “John Tardy still has vocals from the bowels of Hell, and his hair was even longer than I remember (and is almost a stageshow on it’s own).” “Frank Watkins í¢äåäóì his nonchalant attitude on stage reminds me of Nicky Wire of the Manics (believe it or not). Still reckon he should be in a Hardcore band though.” “Trevor Peres (a.k.a. The Skull) í¢äåäóì almost as much hair as John. Totally Metal. Flicked more Devil Horns than Ronnie Dio. Riff-meister.” “Donald Tardy í¢äåäóì the í¢äåñanchorí¢äå of the Obie-sound. Seemed to enjoy it the most, but then you would if your last gig was with Andrew WK.” “Amazed they didn’t play ‘Don’t Care’.” Judging how drunk a large proportion of the crowd were, we’d say you all had a damn fine time! We certainly did… Live photos now up in the Obituary PHOTO GALLERY… somewhere under all that hair, there are faces, honest (we’re talking band, and front row of the pit). new Obituary album coming next year…
About time there was a bunch of new photos up on this site for you to look over, doncha think? With all the recent tours, in stores, and photo shoots going on, we’ve spent more time this last week uploading photos than we have sleeping! So, in respect of our sleep-deprived state, go forth and browse some photo galleries… new photos posted for all the below… just click the band name to be taken straight there (almost as though you clicked your heels like Dorothy). 3 INCHES OF BLOOD CALIBAN SLIPKNOT HATEBREED 36 CRAZYFISTS EIGHTEEN VISIONS HOPESFALL WEDNESDAY 13 OBITUARY TRIVIUM CRADLE OF FILTH
Sadly, the 36CF tour has come to an end, and our boys have flown home to Alaska. What an awesome time though, and judging from our mailbox it looks as though you had as cool a time as we did. Plus, the guys were stoked to meet so many of you at the instores at the MVCs! Have you checked out the few pics we posted up yet in case you’re in them? Live shots too… do take a look, all in the 36CF PHOTO GALLERY. Before they left though, Brock wanted to record a little video message for you guys to download after the tour was done. So, we took along the ol’ camera to the very last show, in Portsmouth, and we’ve just uploaded it for you in the VIDEO section. If you missed the shows, or want a recap of what they were like you simply have to download THIS VIDEO CLIP from the Manchester show… everyone thought it was SO cool, we sent it over to our US office too. The response? Monte Conner, A&R: “That’s fuckin’ awesome!!!”
