Overnight, Nathan Leone updated the MADINA LAKE blog overnight with another update on his twin brother Matthew’s progress following a brutal attack last week as he came to the aid of a woman being beaten in the street.
In the blog, Nathan tells us that Matthew will be allowed to go home whilst he awaits further surgery, but adds that the permanency of the damage done (physically and mentally) is still unclear:
“so we’d finally convinced the doctors to let me take matthew home. he was going nuts in the hospital and they agreed that he would benefit from a more comfortable environment. the only goal at this point is get him strong enough for his 2nd brain surgery which is scheduled for the 16th. it’s going to be a tenuous couple of weeks, we’ll watch him 24 hrs a day, make sure he sits still, rests and heals to the fullest extent possible. we know from the doctors that his future prognosis remains guarded since the permanency of the physical and neuropsychological damage is yet unknown…“
He goes on to thank everyone for their well wishes, donations and further efforts to raise money for Matthew, closing his blog with “you’ll never know how grateful we are… all the love in the world“. You can read the full blog HERE.
If you would like to donate to help Matthew cover his substantial medical bills, you can do so HERE. Watch this space for details of further fundraising efforts for Matthew.
Between the dates of July 22nd and September 12th at London’s Proud Galleries, Camden, 6 of rock and metals most notable photographers will be exhibiting some of their shots of the contemporary music scene. The photographers- Andy Cotterill, Andy Fallon, Paul Harries, Mick Hutson, Roger Sargent and Andy Willsher have between them shot for publications such as Kerrang!, Metal Hammer, NME, Q, Mojo and many more.
Mick Hutson and Paul Harries can almost be considered part of the Roadrunner family, as between them they have shot pretty much every Roadrunner band on the roster for more than 15 years and Paul has the honour of having shot Slipknot for Kerrang! right from the start of their career to the present day. One of Paul’s shots of Corey Taylor will be in the exhibition.
Six signed shots, including Dave Grohl, Libertines and Slipknot will be auctioned on eBay from Monday July 12th in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust (click here for more details).
Limited edition prints signed by the photographers will be available to purchase at the gallery.

Over the weekend, MADINA LAKE’S Nathan Leone made another update on the band’s official blog about developments with this brother Matthew, who was savagely beaten last week coming to the aid of a woman who was being attacked.
In his blog Nathan expresses gratitude for all the well wishes and gifts and gives us an update on his brothers condition.
“There’s really no way to appropriately express our appreciation for everyone’s support. We’ve had calls, letters, gifts, and well wishes pouring in from all around the world and it’s truly the most beautiful and genuine show of compassion and love that we’ve ever experienced. we very sincerely thank you all.
Matthew’s making good progress. His doctors have scheduled the next surgery for July 16th wherein they hope to re-apply the portion of his skull that has been removed to accommodate the swelling in his brain. So for the next 2 weeks he will continue to rest, build up his strength and spirit and hopefully by then he’ll be healthy enough for surgery.”
