Total Guitar is interviewing Robb Flynn and Phil Demmel from the mighty Machine Head on their biggest UK tour to date next week and they’re giving you the chance to ask them your questions.
If you’ve got something you want to ask one of the most talented guitar duos in modern metal, just get in touch via the Total Guitar Twitter or Facebook page or by emailing totalguitar@futurenet.com with the subject line ‘Question for Machine Head’ and your name, location and question.
Maybe you’re trying to get to grips with learning riffs from their monstrous new album ‘Unto The Locust’ or have a question about their current touring rigs, or even Robb’s new Epiphone signature. The choice is yours… but please remember that TG is a guitar mag – although they may slip in a few general questions, if you ask a question about Phil and Robb’s guitar playing, gear or songwriting, you’re much more likely to get it answered.
And if that wasn’t cool enough, if they pick your question, you’ll win a set of D’Adarrio strings as well as featuring in a forthcoming issue of Total Guitar. That’s a bit special, huh?

‘The Path of Totality’ is an experimental album, which finds Bakersfield metallers KOí¿N shifting gears and exploring a new sonic territory. The band have collaborated with some of the world’s leading dubstep and electronic producers, including Skrillex, Excision, Downlink, Datsik, Noisia, Kill the Noise and 12th Planet – and you can hear the results of those collaborations from the 5th of December, when the album is released. In anticipation of the release, we will be revealing a series of Spotify playlists, compiled by the DJs and Jonathan Davies himself. You will also be able to find out more about each DJ and discover how they contributed to this incredible album.
Today’s Spotify playlist comes courtesy of KILL THE NOISE:
“Working with KOí¿N is definitely one of the greatest opportunities I’ve had to date. I grew up listening to a lot of metal so I’ve been a Korn fan since i was in junior high school. Skrillex showed Jonathan Davis a few tracks of mine and thats how I ended up in the studio with these guys. It wasn’t as much of a challenge as I thought it could be to bridge our worlds together.”
It seems that whatever sector of electronic music Kill The Noise draws influence from, it is executed with the same level of quality and production mastery that has become expected from him. His sound has resonated around the world and has been embraced by both veterans and newer generations of artists and enthusiasts.
You can sense from the productions that there is a mission to learn and explore what can be done with sound, and how to push the envelope in electronic music, making this an even more exciting project to watch unfold.
KILL THE NOISE worked on the second single from the album, ‘Narcissistic Cannibal”. He worked on the track with fellow DJ, SKRILLEX.

SLIPKNOT drummer, Joey Jordison, graces the cover of this month’s Drummer Magazine. We think the mag may be onto something when they called him an ‘icon of modern Metal drumming’ and in this feature they discuss why and learn a bit more about the man behind the sticks. Check it out for the inside scoop on all things Joey. AND, if that wasn’t enough, if you subscribe to the mag you will receive a pair of Joey’s signature sticks…BOOM!
Scott Phillips from label mates, ALTER BRIDGE, appears in the mag too AND they have a full report and all the highlights from the recent London Drum Show 2011.
