In the latest in our series of Roadrunner Artist reviews, DRAGONFORCE’S Vadim (keyboards) gives his two cents on label mate’s CKY’S new album ‘CARVER CITY’ (in stores now).
I have never realised i could be so pleasantly hypnotised by a metal band. The mood of the album is very pleasing and satisfying in many ways. It’s a relaxing but rocking and mainly upbeat experience that leaves you feeling accomplished in a way. It’s very easy to listen to and the songs grow on you.
A futuristic touch of ambient keyboard work in the backgroud sets the mood and gives the songs character and depth. They have definitely brought something new to the genre and music in general.
I think my favourite track would have to be The Era of an End. They’ve done a good job to end an album with a lovely, mellow track. Overall the album is a pleasant listen and very refreshing one too. I think this album will appeal to many fans of rock and metal genre.
