Mark March 16th in your diary as a date to remember. This is the day that THE PARLOR MOB will be releasing their groove-laden rock debut AND YOU WERE A CROW. Finally. Them pesky Americans have had the pleasure of their Led Zep influenced stylings for a few months already. Damn them.
The Parlor Mob are a five-piece raging stallion of a band from Red Bank, New Jersey. Fusing old style rock- Zeppelin, Stones- with the new roll sounds of the leaner, meaner hybrids Kings Of Leon, White Stripes and Wolfmother. Yes, it is quite the combo. Believe us, we know!
The band have been kicking up quite a shit storm in America over the past couple of years with their explosive, high octane live shows and building a very loyal fan base along the way. Onstage is where The Parlor Mob shine, pouring their hearts into each and every gig.
The album was recorded with producer Jacquire King (Tom Waits, Kings of Leon, Modest Mouse) in the autumn of 2007. Relocating to Asheville, North Carolina, they brought the songs to life at the Echo Mountain Recording studio.
The Parlor Mob take their name from a notorious 19th Century street gang of the same name, which is quite fitting. Around the mid 1800s, the historical New York hoodlums were commissioned by other street gangs to incite riots. Today, these five musical renegades spark a similar explosion, but with verbose riffs, thought provoking vocals and a smooth yet raucous groove.
