LAMB OF GOD will release their fifth studio album WRATH, on February 23. The record will be released in North America by Epic and will be the first release with their new label Roadrunner outside of North America. WRATH is produced by Grammy winner Josh Wilbur and was recorded in studios in New York, Virginia, and New Hampshire.
LAMB OF GOD finished the touring cycle on the Grammy nominated album Sacrament at the end of 2007. The two-year trek, which included a nationally televised performance on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, was documented in the now certified-Gold DVD Walk with Me in Hell and culminated with the band headlining arenas across the US last December. Entering the Billboard Top 200 at #8, with over 63,000 albums sold, Sacrament had the biggest first week album sales of all metal records released in 2006, outselling first week numbers from metal legends such as Iron Maiden, Slayer, and Mastodon. Sacrament has received countless accolades from critics, including being named Revolver Magazine’s “Album of the Year” for 2006 and landing at #20 in Blender Magazine’s Top 100 of 2006.
LAMB OF GOD’s recent double disc DVD, Walk With Me In Hell, debuted #2 on Billboard’s Video Music Chart selling over 13,000 units. The DVD shipped gold in its first week and the heavy metal icons were a close second to pop mainstay John Mayer.
“This album is going to surprise a lot of people,” comments drummer Chris Adler. “Typically bands that get to where we are in our career begin to slack off, smell the roses and regurgitate. We chose a different path. No one wants to hear another band member hyping a new record. WRATH needs no hype. We have topped ourselves and on February 23rd you will feel it.”
LAMB OF GOD is recording a brand-new video in their hometown of Richmond, VA for “Set To Fail” with director Doug Spangenberg (Stone Sour, All That Remains), who has also directed the band’s platinum-awarded Killadelphia DVD, plus Lamb Of God’s first DVD, Terror and Hubris.
The band recently played a string of West Coast and Canadian dates with Metallica. Unfortunately, LAMB OF GOD was once again banned from The Forum in LA, due to the religious venue owners’ disapproval of the band’s former name, Burn The Priest.
