Shot And A Beer

Time for some more words on the debut Thornley…and they come in the form as follows: 1 – US Revolver Magazine. The current issue on stands has Slipknot on the cover…the upcoming issue (August 2004, #27) has the US Ozzfest 2004 participants on the cover, AND a review of the debut Thornley CD, Come Again. And it goes just like this: “What might Nickelback sound like fronted by Chris Cornell? Say hello to THORNLEY, the new quartet formed by Canadian singer/guitarist Ian Thornley following the demise of his previous group, Big Wreck. The band’s auspicious debut, Come Again, is a 12-song slice of radio-ready melodic hard rock, a cornucopia of ebb-abd-flow arrangements filled with hooks and anthemic choruses – along with a vocal timbre (not to mention physical appearance) that’s baldly reminiscent of the aforementioned former Soundgarden frontman. Thornley are less edgy and experimental than Cornell’s subsequent Audioslave or even Big Wreck, but Come Again is still highly listenable in a workmanlike, shot-and-a-beer kind of way – virtues that should not be easily dismissed.” 2 – This Week In Metal. Review of the album just posted today at ThisWeekInMetal.com. “…Thornley rocks. Come Again is what great summer albums are all about – roll down the windows, and crank it up as loud as it can go, because this is one of those records that hooks you after one spin.” Do visit them and read on…
