COHEED AND CAMBRIA – WORLD OF LINES

Posted on October 8, 2010

Last week saw COHEED AND CAMBRIA premiere their video for World Of Lines over at http://www.nme.com. In case you missed it, we thought we would give you the chance to check it out here!

The video is more a short film, running at a little over 8 minutes in length and expanding on an idea co-conceived by Coheed’s lead singer, Claudio Sanchez, who worked with Lex Halaby (Director- who has also worked with the likes of Killswitch Engage & Offspring) to bring to life the song’s lyrics, which are a part of the larger fictional narrative that’s played out in ‘Year of the Black Rainbow’.

The film tells the tale of three teenagers (Rav, Jax and Tera), adjusting to small town living. Using dialogue spliced intermittently throughout the song the plot unfolds amidst the teen’s eagerness to fit in at their new High School. However, their dreams of hanging with the “in crowd” are cut short once their true nature is revealed…

Coheed will hit the UK with Deftones as their special guests on their forthcoming headline tour. Check dates and ticket links TOURS PAGE.

JULIETTE LEWIS REVEALS NEW VIDEO OVER AT SPINNER UK

Posted on October 8, 2010

In a world exclusive with AOL, JULIETTE LEWIS has revealed her new video for the title track from her current album TERRA INCOGNITA.

Here in the UK, fans can see the video on AOL’s SPINNER MUSIC and the first thing viewers may notice, as Spinner point out, is that Juliette’s looking pretty fit these days, enough to warrant her getting into a hardcore ‘Fight Club’ scenario right off the bat.

CLICK HERE TO SEE THE VIDEO.

“I do love the symbolism of fighting,” Lewis tells Spinner. “The art of it, taking your hits, taking your licks, getting up again — it’s a central theme to me as an artist, especially being a crossover act, coming from film into rock ‘n’ roll. This is the first time we touch upon that uphill battle.”

The other thing that strikes you is the raw, gritty quality to Juliette’s music as well as her vocals. Here we have a woman on the scene who can hold her own in the rock world- and seemingly in a fist fight too!!

The album, Terra Inognita, is in stores now. Pick it up on iTunes HERE.

COREY TAYLOR SPEAKS TO THE HUFFINGTON POST

Posted on October 8, 2010

Whilst (seemingly) being cryogenically preserved by stealth on the STONE SOUR tour bus when out on the Uproar tour, frontman Corey Taylor took some time to sit down and have a chat on the phone with THE HUFFINGTON POST about not only the recording conditions of the bands new release Audio Secrecy but also about the politcal response to the flooding in Nashville at the time and his childhood in Des Moines.

On the subject of his memories of growing up in Des Moines, Corey admits, “I don’t have a lot of good ones. It’s not about Iowa itself, it’s just about the kind of stuff that I went through when I was growing up. But there’s something special, not only about Iowa, but Des Moines, in general, for me. It was the first place that really felt like home to me. Even though I was born there, we moved around a lot when I was younger, and every time we would come back to Des Moines, it just felt like home. I’ve still got the same friends that I grew up with, I still go to the same places that I used to go to when I was younger, and it’s just a very special place to me. I’m still very proud to call Iowa home.”
