ON THIS DAY IN ROADRUNNER HISTORY…

Posted on August 17, 2011

KISS played a gig at the Cow Palace in San Fransisco – the year was 1977. There are some audio clips online, although the quality isn’t great. You can listen to KISS dedicating Rock And Roll All Nite to Elvis at the end of this post.

We scoured the net to see what we could find out about this particular gig and stumbled upon some awesomely retro looking passes, which you can see below (note: ‘Bill Graham presents’ – LEGEND!):

The setlist for the gig, including the encore, was as follows:

7. Christine Sixteen
8. Makin’ Love

10. I Want You
11. Calling Dr. Love
12. Shout It Out Loud
13. God of Thunder” (w/ Gene Simmons & Peter Criss solos)
14. Rock and Roll All Nite

And in keeping with the KISS theme, here are 5 facts that you may not have known about KISS:

1. Katey Sagal was a backup singer on Gene Simmons’ 1978 solo album.
2. Only two members of KISS played with the band using their given names.
3. KISS has performed in public as a trio just twice.
4. Bryan Adams has co-writer credits on two KISS songs.
5. There are six KISS album covers featuring members who barely played on the records the covers are for (some didn’t even play on them at all!?).
