AIRBOURNE AND MEGADETH TO FEATURE ON NHL 11 SOUNDTRACK

Posted on July 23, 2010

MEGADETH’S ‘Dialectic Chaos’ and AIRBOURNE’S ‘Bottom of the Well’ will be two of sixteen tracks featured on this year’s NHL 11 soundtrack. The ice hockey video game for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 is set for release September 2010.

Developed by EA Canada and published by EA Sports, the Worldwide Executive of Music and Marketing for EA, Steve Schnur, comments, “This year, its all about authenticity. We talked to gamers and fans about what kind of music they wanted in this new edition, and they said they wanted the feel of a live NHL experience.”

In their quest to “bring home the authentic arena hockey experience,” the gaming giants have tapped Megadeth for some assistance in the form of their 2009 critically acclaimed album ENDGAME’S vicious opener, ‘Dialectic Chaos’ and have called upon Airbourne for their hard rockin’ anthem “Bottom of the Well” from 2010’s whiskey-fueled NO GUTS. NO GLORY. For more info on NHL 11 and the full tracklisting of the game’s soundtrack, visit EASports.com.

Both the afforementioned albums are in stores now. You can pick them up by clicking on the followng links:

MURDERDOLLS main men Joey Jordison and Wednesday 13 got on the blower to Rock Radio recently to discuss their forthcoming new album WOMEN AND CHILDREN LAST.

Exchanging messages about 2 years ago about the state of the metal scene, they decided the time was right and started exchanging songs…

NEWCOMERS REVOKER CHAT TO THE BEEB

Posted on July 23, 2010

Jamie Mathias, vocalist with Roadrunner newcomers REVOKER sat down with BBC Wales recently to talk about their recent signing to Roadrunner and to fill them in a little on what to expect from the band…

Our music is hard-hitting, straight to the point, lots of energy, with great melodies people can sing and chant along to.”, Jamie said of the bands approach to their craft, “It’s a mixture of old school metal and hard rock; it’s music that we want to hear and to hear more of. I don’t think our sound has been heard for a while with the trends in music of late. Bands just seem to follow whatever the new thing is and what everyone’s into at the time instead of striking out on their own. We are just being ourselves and writing music that we believe in and get a kick out of playing live.”

When asked how the band had been able to get their music out to the wider record industry he responded simply:

Non-stop gigging from day one! We’ve been together now as a band for the last five years and we literally haven’t stopped. From making demo after demo and gigging in every club around South Wales and parts of the UK in front of the sound guy and his three mates. You just work hard to meet people, other bands, get out there, and gradually build your profile – like every other signed and successful band that’s been through it I guess!”
