OPETH hit the UK on tour this week and my LORD are they on devastating form! Last nights show at Shepards Bush Empire was nothing short of incredible. Top if this weeks playlist is BURDEN, their new video.
Following up behind it is NICKELBACK’S current single GOTTA BE SOMEBODY. Bit of a shift from Opeth, granted, but new album DARK HORSE has been on constand rotation here in the office
NICKELBACK recently sat down with the BBC’s Emma Jones for their enternainment news and chatted about the success of their hit single ‘Rockstar’ and their new album DARK HORSE.
“It definitely showed us how to have a successful video – only be in for six seconds at the end…”
Chad (vocals) jokes about the hit single’s video.
The main focus of the interview is of course their new album, which was released this week (17/11). Produced by Mutt Lange (AC/DC, Def Leppard), it’s one hell of a rocker of a record.
Comments Jones:
“Lange’s stamp is all over Dark Horse – from the vocal harmonies to the multi-layer guitars. It is the most polished record the band, once described as ‘post-grunge ‘, have put out.
The first single, Gotta Be Somebody, is a traditional Nickelback up-tempo ballad, but much of the album is surprisingly heavy…”
