KIDS IN GLASS HOUSES are set to release Diamond Days, the third track taken from their current album ‘In Gold Blood’, on March 19th. This single will coincide with the band’s support slot on the You Me At Six UK tour which kicks off on March 17th 2012.
The album ‘In Gold Blood’ is a story, of a man and a woman surrounded by chaos and madness that start a journey hoping to escape it all. They wander, they learn and they eventually find the reality and the answers they were looking for. At the end only the man remains, a scarred survivor, his companion no longer by his side and his future uncertain.
“The two main characters live in a world where people celebrate nothing but destroying each other and they can’t understand why,” Aled (vocals) explains. “They are caught between different systems and beliefs at war with each other and the album is their attempt to find a way through that. There are plenty of negative sentiments but there is an optimism in the songs too, they might not make it through together but they do come out the other side.”
“Diamond Days is the point in the story where the two characters realise that the only way to improve or change their situation is to go out and do it themselves. Find their own answers. It walks the line between the fear and exhilaration of the unknown. The words aren’t too cryptic and it’s quite a clean narrative that discusses their unity and their determination to reach a goal, regardless of the consequences or struggles.”
