…the mighty MEGADETH played at the Susquehanna Center as part of the “American Carnage Tour”. The Waster documented the tour and had the below to say about that particular date:

“Camden, NJ — Embarking together on the “American Carnage Tour” three of the most sinfully decadent and hardest rocking metals bands on the plant combined forces to drop the hammer on the cult. Weaving their way throughout North America, Slayer and MEGADETH with special guest Testament, began in Albany on August 11 and hit 26 cities until Labor Day weekend. Another band hitting the stage on the 15th of August, in both 2008 and 2009, was KILLSWITCH ENGAGE. The band played at Lowlands Festival on the 15th of August 2008 and The Mayhem Festival in Dallas, Texas on the 15th of August 2009. The footage from Lowlands is particularly awesome and can be seen below:

Billboard spoke to Mike D’Antonio about the bands’ plans for 2009 not long after they were confirmed for Lowlands:

“We are considering starting an album at the end of [2008] at this point,” D’Antonio said. “We’re not gonna stop touring on this record (‘As Daylight Dies’) until at least the end of April, and I know we’re probably going to do a run of all the festivals in Europe in June and July. After that, I believe then we’re gonna start talking about writing a new record.”

The band went on to release their second self titled album in June 2009. It debuted and peaked at number 7 on the Billboard 200, selling 58,000 copies in its first week, which made it the band’s highest charting album to date.
