ROB ZOMBIE’S PIGGY D “THE SPECIAL EDITION OF HELLBILLY DELUXE WAS TO CAPTURE THE MOMENT; IT’S A TIME CAPSUE”

Posted on March 2, 2011

On the opening night of the sell out UK ROB ZOMBIE tour, Sonic Shocks sat down with bassist Piggy D to have a chat to him about the shows, recording with the band and the release of the HellbillyDeluze 2 Special Edition.

You can’t take a break this long and rock up in jeans and t-shirts” he says of the bands extraordinary production on the tour following a 12 year hiatus from the UK, “We’re taking this to the next level…

When discussing recording the current album, he comments that whilst Rob Zombie is very much the figure-head of the band, he is someone that looks for opinion in his band members and that he’s never known a full band be in the studio altogether throughout the entire process as Rob encouraged feedback from all members throughout the tracking of the album.

When asked about the additional tracks on the special edition of the album, recorded last year with Joey Jordison on drums, he discusses how Joey was a “breath of fresh air” for the band and how whilst he was there, they wanted to capture that, not knowing when his other commitments would take him away again.
