SEE THE AWESOME NEW VIDEO FROM COHEED AND CAMBRIA- ‘WORLD OF LINES’- IN A UK EXCLUSIVE WITH NME

Posted on October 1, 2010

COHEED AND CAMBRIA have today revealed their new video for the track ‘World Of Lines’ in a UK exclusive with NME.COM.

The video is more a short film, running at a little over 8 minutes in length and expanding on an idea co-conceived by Coheed’s lead singer, Claudio Sanchez, who worked with Lex Halaby (Director- who has also worked with the likes of Killswitch Engage & Offspring) to bring to life the song’s lyrics, which are a part of the larger fictional narrative that’s played out in ‘Year of the Black Rainbow’.

The film has it’s focus on society’s lack of acceptance – a bullying mentality towards those who are different. As Sanchez explains, “Coheed fans don’t often fit in with groups or cliques, they’re different… somewhat complex and hard to categorize, very much like our band.”

The film tells the tale of three teenagers (Rav, Jax and Tera), adjusting to small town living. Using dialogue spliced intermittently throughout the song the plot unfolds amidst the teen’s eagerness to fit in at their new High School. However, their dreams of hanging with the “in crowd” are cut short once their true nature is revealed…
