With the UK Chimaira tour now over, here is the final installment from Chris Spicuzza’s tour diary. Feb 16th: Belfast I had DSL and a Guinness today. Feb 17th: Northumbria I woke up early because of the instore signing. My crabbiness can be overwhelming in the morning. Warning: don퉌_t come near me if it looks like I just woke up. This time my mood turned around when I saw Matt퉌_s bright and shiny face in our dressing room. We headed out to the signing. It was a long one. I picked up a few CDs including Ministry퉌_s Greatest Hits then we headed back to the club. The crowd was just as great as the last time we came through Newcastle. We decided to play Sex Type Thing again since it was being broadcasted that night on the radio. After the gig I attempted to shower with a hose missing the nozzle. Sticking my thumb in the hole I was able to create enough pressure to wash off the soap. Fucking sad. Feb 18th: Edinburgh This city is beautiful. Driving to the signing we saw castles, cathedrals, and other old piles of bricks. The weirdest thing I signed today was two girls faces. Somehow I managed to scribble my name on their chins. I walked around in the cold with Thredz (RR’s good web buddy extraordinaire). We stopped at McDonald’s for some of America퉌_s finest garbage cuisine. Then off to the Virgin Megastore and HMV where I picked up the new Kerrang (Chimaira London KKKKK review) and a Dimmu CD. The only thing I remember about tonight’s show was the fans chanting Ki-FUCKING-Meera before we went on. Classic. Feb 19th: Northampton To describe this city to New Yorkers I’d compare it to Poughkeepsie. With that in mind my day was packed with a whole lot of nothing. The highlight of my day is definitely the circle pit started by Andy Williams (Every Time I Die guitarist) outside Spin-A-Disc Records. A few people video-taped the event so maybe it will surface. For food I walked to Millenium Kebabs not once, but twice. That was basically my only option to eat besides the shifty sandwiches we were offered earlier. A prawn and mayo sandwich doesn’t sound like something I could eat without throwing up. This basically wraps up the Spicuzza Sessions of this tour. There isn’t anything else to say and I’m sick of rambling. Before I forget… Best Show: London. Anyone who witnessed the carnage would understand. Go get the current issue of Kerrang for the official KKKKK review! We thank every single fan for coming out to these shows and to the signings. Chimaira as a whole is blown away by the love received in the UK. We can’t wait to come back in June. I personally want to thank the entire RR UK staff for being simply amazing and a dream to work with. It’s been an unforgettable two weeks. Finally, thank you for reading this crap. Rock.
