MOST PRECIOUS BLOOD GET MERCILESS IN JUNE

Posted on February 12, 2008

Not content with their brief visit in January, hardcore bruisers MOST PRECIOUS BLOOD will return to dish out another battering in June. Victory Records’ Ringworm are confirmed as main support. Damnation AD will be opening each night. Get in the pit at: JUNE 19 í¢ä‰åäóì Newport TJs (tickets 퉌£9) 20 í¢ä‰åäóì Sheffield Corporation (tickets 퉌£9) 21 í¢ä‰åäóì Manchester Phoenix (tickets 퉌£10) 22 í¢ä‰åäóì London Underworld (tickets 퉌£10) Tickets are on sale now from the venues and usual box offices. Don’t miss ’em í¢ä‰åäóì a Kerrang! maximum 5K review of their last London show reads: í¢ä‰åñSimply. Fucking. Incredible. Detonating like an aural nailbomb, Most Precious Blood are on utterly devastating form tonight. From the opening roar of ‘Shark Ethic’ onwards, every beat, note and scream is unleashed with the utmost malicious intent, their anger so palpable that they make most bands seem mildly annoyed at best. Somehow, they seem to be even faster than on record, every word torn from the throat of vocalist Rob Fusco drenched with raw, lacerating fury. Only the crowd directly before the stage fling themselves around with anything like the abandon displayed by the band but the adrenalin infusing the room is overwhelming. While this is undoubtedly hardcore at its most fierce, MPB don’t get bogged down in the kind of tough-guy posturing that beleaguers so many bands within the genre í¢ä‰åäóì their music is imbued with a real depth and humanity and the band come across as accessible despite the ferocity of their performance. For 45 all-too-short minutes, nothing else in the world matters and as the closing chords of ‘The Great Red Shift’ erupt and Fusco disappears beneath the bodies piling atop him, his final cry of í¢ä‰åñBest show ever!í¢ä‰åŒ is the perfect full stop. Sometimes five K’s just ain’t enough.í¢ä‰åŒ í¢ä‰åäóì KKKKK í¢ä‰åäóì Dan Slessor
