Roadrunner Records are pleased to confirm that they will be re-issuing Within Temptation’s classic second album ‘Mother Earth’ on September 24, complete with new artwork and four previously unreleased live tracks. The four live songs were recorded at the band’s special Java Island show in Amsterdam on July 22, 2005 in front of 10,000 fans.
Originally released back in 2001 (2004 in some parts of Europe), ‘Mother Earth’ stayed in the Dutch charts for over three months and is often regarded as the band’s breakthrough album. Singles ‘Our Farewell’ and ‘Ice Queen’ propelled them to a previously unattained level of success; ‘Ice Queen’ peaking at #1 in the Belgium singles chart (#2 in the Dutch charts). The album went on to achieve Platinum status.
