Roadrunner & Artist News
Posted on February 12, 2008The latest from the recording of Spineshank's new album, as told by drummer Tommy Decker:
We are finished tracking the record!!!! Happy new year everybody. the last time I had given you an update, we had just gotten back from Vancouver to take a holiday break and listen to what we had so far. We felt like we needed another week to finish up some "odds and ends" so we booked a week at Cello studios in Hollywood and banged it out. I'm really excited about this record and can't wait to get it out, mixing starts on the 24th of this month and should be completed in early Feb. We decided to go with Scott Humphrey as our mixer. He really made a big difference on the last record, his mixes seem to bring more life and aggression to the songs, and that can't be bad...
We are busting our ass to get it out A.S.A.P. Unfortunately the release date moved from late May to early June so the label can take care of some legal stuff. It's only another 2 weeks in what seems like 10 yrs!! It's taken forever, but like I've said before we wanted to make it as good as possible so you get your moneys worth. I hate paying $16 for a CD with 2 or 3 good songs on it and I'm sure you do also. I promise you that will not be the case with Self Destructive Pattern....there will be 4 good songs!!
We have also been busy "learning" how to play these new songs and "relearning" the old songs - the last time SpineShank played together as a band was on Sept 10, 2001 in Dublin, Ireland, so its been a LONG time. But we will be back on tour before the summer. We are already in talks about a few possible tours...so keep your eyes open.
well that's it for now, I'll check in when we have some final mixes done and let you know what the track listing will be. later.
