Refusing to write a 'radio track' for any of the labels they were talking to, MACHINE HEAD released Through The Ashes Of Empires in October of 2003, on Roadrunner Records ex. North America. The album delivered a crushing metal onslaught; a full on 'fuck you' to the band's critics. It was released on home turf 6 months later, also with Roadrunner, making Machine Head the first band to re-sign with the label.
In the latest of the Discography series, Robb Flynn talks about the uncertainty of no longer having a deal and the determination to continue that drove the band forward and infiltrated their sound.
